Sunday 3rd July 2011 The Frankie Lane Trophy On a very hot day, commencing at 11am, 6 drawn triples contested this bowling Triathlon organised by Tim Couling. Each team played one singles, one pairs and one triples match during the course of the day. There was some fine bowling and very close contests. No team won all their matches but Barbara Bailey, Kevin Donaldson and Ann Dennis were the eventual winners. |

Thursday 30th June 2011 - A Friendly match against Seaford BC We entertained Captain Michael Byrne and 7 mixed rinks. We turned out a strong team against the East Sussex visitors and were victorious by 149-123. |

Tuesday 28th June 2011. Twelve happy bowlers!! Our two teams (Silver and Blue) in the Ladies North Dorset Triples continued their interrupted league match. The match was stopped during the previous week, after only 4 ends, due to heavy rain. Fortunately, Tuesday was a warm sunny day and on this occasion the Blue team (front row) were victorious. |

Saturday 11th June 2011 - A Friendly match against Thorneycroft BC. Gwen Jesson welcomed Peter Hans, the visiting tour Captain, and six mixed rinks. We had a strong team and won on all 6 rinks with a score of 145 to 80. Ann Dennis, Gordon Crabtree, Norman Arnold and Peter Hawkins (skip) were our top rink. |

Friday 20th May 2011 - Friendly match against Timber Trundlers BA. Gwen Jesson welcomed President Brenda Brown and Captain of the Day Ken Hitchens. The Trundlers are an Association with members from as far apart as Dorchester, Bournemouth and Southampton. They bowl with Lignum Vitae wooden bowls which went out of fashion in the 1960s and gave way to the modern resin bowls. The match was 6 mixed rinks with the result being 3 rinks each but the Trundlers won by 115 woods to 99. Our top rink was Jenny Fitzpatrick, Alan Davidson, Norman Arnold and Gordon Crabtree. |

Sunday 15th May 2011 - A Friendly match against South Dorset BA. The President of SDBA and Captain of the Day, Derek Wensley brought a very strong team of 4 mixed rinks. The Club could only manage victory on one rink in an 88 to 60 woods defeat. Bert Pluthero presented the Trophy to the victorious Captain. |

Saturday 14th May 2011 - Bowls and Fish and Chips Supper. Our entertainments members arranged the Fish and Chips Suppers after a late afternoon start for bowling. Over 30 members attended a fun event that was enjoyed by everyone. |

Saturday 30th April 2011 - Friendly against Wootton Bassett BC The Club hosted Captain for the Day, Eddie Levine, and his touring members. The Wiltshire town is now famous for its patriotism and in appreciation of this our raffle takings were donated to Help For Heroes. This was our first friendly of the season which we won 98-80 with Sylvia Pink, Bert Pluthero, Liz Males and Gill Walford being our top rink. |

Wednesday 27th April 2011 - Coffee Morning and Plant Sale The event was held, on a sunny day at the Milldown Road Green, to raise funds for the Club. Members provided a good range of quality plants and trading was brisk. |

Friday 29th April 2011 - Royal Wedding Bowls!! The Club held a fun bowling event to celebrate the Royal wedding. It was attended by over 30 members in fancy dress. The afternoon comprised bowls, a meal and 'games'. The games included 'pass the parcel' and a fantastic time was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Ann and Maureen our entertainment members. |
