A short report on President's Day 2011 which was held on Saturday 13th August.

PRESIDENT'S DAY 2011. Gwen Jesson decided that her day would be a 'Spanish Fancy Dress'. Fortunately, the day remained dry albeit a bit cloudy. The bowls, devised by Richard Brown, was an interesting triples competition for the 12 drawn teams. After each end the losing team remained on its rink and the winning team moved up one rink. The scoring woods were counted. The excellent buffet was provided by Judy Walters and Zilla Brown. Zilla also made the 'President's cake'. It was agreed by all present that the event was the best day of the season. The proceeds from the raffle were donated to the Dorset Air Ambulance. |
